The Merger of Two Gaint Paper Packaging Companies

          Smurfit Kappa operates in 22 European countries as well as 13 countries and regions across South America, Central America, and North America, making it Europe's largest paper and packaging producer.

         WestRock is the second-largest packaging company in the United States. The combined total revenue for both companies was approximately USD34 billion. 

         According to Smurfit Kappa's statement, their goal for this merger is to save over USD400 million in pre-tax costs by the end of the first full year. 

         However, there will also be one-time expenses estimated at around USD235 million for the merger process itself. 

         With presence in 42 countries across Europe and Americas, Smurfit WestRock aims to establish a significant position within these markets.
